Live Simply This sticker has a special place in my heart. For six years I tried to live simply. I lived in a tiny tent in the woods near Flagstaff, Arizona. I was motivated partly by my concern for the environment, but also partly by a desire to keep my cost of living down. I was hoping to make a living as a freelance writer. Though I never came close to making a living as a writer, I at least enjoyed the experience of living in a tent. Maybe one of these days I will get around to writing a book about that. Meanwhile, I have managed to transform my life into something that is a lot less simple. These days, I find myself dealing with computer networking issues, filing various tax returns for my business, trying to maintain an ever-growing inventory, while paying two employees, and trying to be a good husband to my wife and my cat. Sometimes, it all gets a little complicated. When it does, I focus on petting the cat, and think back to simpler times. Dan R. Frazier |
