More About Product Options
Some of our stickers and magnets are now available in a variety of sizes and
styles.
Classic options provide an easy way to order one of four
sizes and styles that have proven popular over the years. With classic options,
you get our highest quality product options providing excellent weather and fade
resistance. Classic products are made of vinyl with adhesive backing. Fridge
magnets and magnetic bumper stickers have a thin and flexible magnetic backing
that clings to steel.
Custom options allow you to pick and choose the features
that are important to you, giving you more sizes to choose from, and more
material and ink choices. For instance, you can create a larger sticker or
magnet than is offered via our classic options. Or, you can order a more
earth-friendly paper sticker suitable for indoor use. Pricing is based on
the individual product features you select.
Backing choices include an adhesive backing, a
magnetic backing, or no backing at all.
Adhesive backing is the type typically found on bumper
stickers. Remove the protective liner and the pressure sensitive adhesive will hold tightly to smooth surfaces, especially
non-porous surfaces like glass, plastic or steel. The bumper sticker can be
removed during the first few days after application, but will become
increasingly difficult to remove over time.
Magnetic backing is offered on fridge magnets and magnetic bumper stickers.
This type of backing is a thin but flexible backing that clings to steel. This
type of backing is ideal for short-term applications, or when
you want to remove or reposition a sticker/magnet frequently.
No backing at all is an option when you choose paper
material. (Paper items can also be purchased with adhesive or magnetic backing.)
This option is ideal if you plan to tape a printed item inside a window, or
perhaps you want to use a small printed item as a bookmark.
Material options available include vinyl or paper.
Vinyl is recommended for outdoor use. Vinyl is a
petroleum-based product and the focus of a variety of environmental concerns.
Paper is suitable for many indoor applications.
Paper is a renewable resource. We use recycled papers whenever possible. Paper items should be kept away from moisture.
Finish options include glossy or no-gloss / low
gloss.
Glossy means shiny. This may look more professional, and can make
for a more weather and fade-resistant product, but it can sometimes make it harder to read a sticker or
magnet in certain types of lighting.
Ink options include four types of ink treatments.
Our Outdoor Ink option provides excellent weather and fade resistance
on vinyl items. Significant fading should not become noticeable for one to two
years. Actual rate of fading will depend on amount of sun exposure. A person who routinely
parks their vehicle in a garage may not notice bumper sticker fading for a few more years.
High Gloss Indoor Ink is available on paper items. It is not
compatible with vinyl. This type of ink is very glossy or shiny like a
photograph when used on glossy paper. If exposed to direct sun, this type of ink will
fade noticeably within a few weeks. This ink is mildly water-resistant when used
on glossy paper.
No Gloss Indoor Ink is available on paper items. It is not compatible
with vinyl material. This
type of ink has no gloss when used on non-glossy paper. If exposed to
direct sun, this type of ink will
fade noticeably within a few weeks. This ink will not
hold up well if exposed to moisture.
Earth-Friendly Indoor Ink can be used on paper or vinyl items. This is a medium gloss ink similar to some magazine inks. This
type of ink holds up better to moisture than our other indoor ink. However, fade
resistance is low so keep this ink away from direct sunlight. (Expect to
notice fading within a few days if exposed to direct sunlight.)
This type of ink is non-toxic and is derived from solid ink cubes meaning that there are no ink
cartridges to be discarded or recycled.
