Commit Random Kindness & Senseless Acts Beauty

As best I can tell, this is a variation of a quote by a San Francisco writer named Anne Herbert. Her original quote apparently was "Practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty." I think I like the original quote better, as it has a certain symmetry that is lacking in the bumper sticker above. But the shorter version fits better on a bumper sticker and mini sticker.

I really don't know much about Anne Herbert, except that she used to work at and write for "Co-evolution Quarterly." This leads me to think she is probably more evolved than some of the rest of us -- or maybe more co-evolved -- whatever that is.

I found a few things she wrote online. Here are a few lines that struck a chord with me:

"Life offers many zigs, in each and every day, and it's really easy to twitch in some way we've been trained to twitch and think there is only one way to zag in response.

There are 360 degrees in a circle and nobody knows how many degrees there are in a sphere.

At any moment, there are a lot of ways to zag in response to the zigs life offers. And when you respond from the place where your tenderness meets your wild and crazy imagination, Zag the Transformer might be you."

I like that. But I'd need pretty big bumper sticker for all that.
